Heavy-Duty Clasp Envelopes

Business Source 36661 clasp envelopes are 28 lb Kraft paper envelopes sold in boxes of 100. They suit offices, schools and home users who regularly send or store multi-page documents. The open-end style and metal clasp provide a reusable closure for frequent access.

Sustained Use Durability

Reinforced metal clasps with rounded, rust-resistant plating withstand repeated opening and closing without bending. Deep gumming on the large flap maintains a secure seal across many cycles. The 28 lb stock resists tearing when envelopes are handled daily in busy mailrooms.

Upgrade From Lightweight Envelopes

These replace thinner envelopes that tear or lose their seal under heavy contents. The jump is worth it when you mail thick reports, catalogues or bundled paperwork that demands a stronger flap and a clasp that does not pull out. Not suited for buyers who need padded protection or moisture-proof mailing.

Questions about this item

Do the metal clasps on these 28 lb envelopes hold up to daily opening and closing without bending?

The metal clasp is plated for rust resistance and has rounded edges, designed to withstand repeated use without bending or damaging the envelope.

What size documents fit inside the 6-1/2 by 9-1/2 inch open-end opening without folding?

Unfolded documents up to 6-1/2 by 9-1/2 inches fit flat through the open-end style, so standard half-letter pages and smaller inserts slide in directly.

Will the gummed flaps on these Kraft envelopes adhere reliably to recycled or textured paper stock?

The deep gumming on the large flap is formulated for a secure seal on a variety of paper surfaces, including recycled and textured stocks.
