A cylindrical ceramic fuse, 1-1/4 inch long, quarter-inch diameter, cream body with silver end caps

Bussmann

Bussmann ABC-25-R Ceramic Fuse 25A 1kA 125V AC 75V DC 200A 250V AC

SKU CH-WME2-2RMZB

A 25 A fast-acting ceramic fuse rated for 1 kA at 125 V AC and 75 V DC, plus 200 A at 250 V AC

  • Fast-acting protection for sensitive circuits
  • 1 kA interrupt rating at 125 V AC and 75 V DC
  • Ceramic body withstands high temperatures
  • 25 A rating suits a wide range of applications
  • Compatible with standard fuse blocks including series 3823 and 8000

Application fit

This 25A ceramic fuse suits low-voltage DC and AC circuits rated up to 125V AC or 75V DC where a 1kA interrupt rating is sufficient, and it fits standard 1-1/4 in by 1/4 in cylindrical fuse blocks. It is not for systems that require a rejection-style fuse, an indicating element, or interrupt ratings above 1kA at those voltages.

Critical rating match

The single specification that decides fit is the combination of 25A continuous rating with a 1kA interrupt rating at 125V AC and 75V DC; if your circuit demands a higher interrupt rating at those voltages or a different voltage rating such as 250V AC with 200A interrupt, this part will not meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

How much current can the 25 A fuse carry before it opens in a real circuit?

It is rated 25 A continuous; it will open only when current exceeds that value, with a 1 kA interrupt rating at 125 V AC and 75 V DC.

What does the 1 kA interrupt rating at 125 V AC actually limit?

It means the fuse can safely break a fault current up to 1 kA at 125 V AC; at 250 V AC the interrupt rating drops to 200 A.

What fuse block or holder do I need for the 1-1/4 in by 1/4 in ceramic body?

Compatible blocks include the 3823, HFA, HHN, HK, HKP, HPF, HRK, HTB and S-8000 series.
