Aluminium M.2 enclosure takes NVMe and SATA SSDs in 2242, 2260 or 2280 sizes over USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 10 Gbps with UASP and TRIM support
This aluminum enclosure turns a 2242, 2260 or 2280 M.2 SSD with M-Key or B+M-Key into a portable USB drive. It accepts both NVME PCI-E and SATA protocol drives, making it useful for repurposing internal storage or moving large data sets between machines. The RTL9210B controller supports UASP and TRIM for sustained performance and longer drive life.
The Type-C connector delivers up to 10 Gbps and is backward compatible with USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.0 at 5 Gbps. Maximum throughput depends on the host port and cable; older USB-A ports will restrict speed to the lower standard. The enclosure does not support M.2 PCIe AHCI drives, Wi-Fi cards, capture cards, mSATA SSDs or non-M.2 form factors.
The tray fits the full 2280 length, so most consumer M.2 SSDs install without modification. Thermal pads are included to help the aluminum shell dissipate heat during sustained transfers. Drives larger than 2280 or using unsupported keying cannot be mounted, and the single USB-C link caps total bandwidth at the interface maximum regardless of drive speed.

It fits 2242, 2260 and 2280 modules with M-Key or B+M-Key connectors.
The 10 Gbps link supports UASP and Trim, so an NVME drive will saturate the bus while a SATA drive hits its native limit.
No, USB 3.2 Gen 2 10 Gbps on a standard Type-C or Type-A 3.1/3.0 port delivers the rated throughput.
