Transparent 2.5" SATA Enclosure

This transparent enclosure converts a 2.5 inch SATA hard drive or SSD into an external USB 3.0 storage device. It suits users who want quick access to laptop drives for backup, data recovery or extra portable capacity without opening a computer case.

Tool-free setup with USB power

The drive slides into the plastic shell and connects directly to the internal SATA port; no screws or separate power adapter are required because the unit draws power from the USB cable. The enclosure accepts drives up to 10 mm thick, so taller 2.5 inch models will not fit and the lid cannot close on them.

Up to 3000G capacity at 5 Gbps

The specifications state support for drives up to 3000G, while the USB 3.0 interface delivers a maximum throughput of 5 Gbps and remains backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1. Larger drives beyond the stated limit will not be recognised, and sustained transfers will saturate the USB 3.0 link rather than the drive itself.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the enclosure is running at 5 Gbps after connecting it?

Check the host system’s device manager or USB tree view; it should list the connection as USB 3.0 operating at 5 Gbps with UASP active.

What comes in the box and what must I supply myself?

The package includes the transparent enclosure and one USB 3.0 data cable; you provide any 2.5-inch SATA drive up to 10 mm thick.

Which drive capacity should I choose given the 2000 G and 3000 G figures?

The spec notes support up to 2000 G for notebook drives and up to 3000 G maximum; pick a drive within the 2000 G limit for guaranteed compatibility.
