Capture up to 4K at 30 Hz via USB-C
The BG-4K120CHA is a USB-C video capture device that accepts HDMI 2.1 signals up to 4K 120 Hz and records at up to 4K 30 Hz or 1080p 120 Hz. It draws up to 4.5 W from the USB-C port and includes a built-in scaler plus HDR10 to SDR conversion so console output can be viewed on an HDR display while capturing an SDR stream. Audio paths cover HDMI 7.1-channel output, TOSLINK 5.1-channel output and stereo analogue I/O with hardware volume knobs.
Streamers and console gamers needing HDMI loop-out
Creators who want to play at 4K 120 Hz on a TV or monitor while simultaneously recording a 4K 30 Hz or 1080p 120 Hz feed will find the HDMI loop-out and scaler useful. Broadcasters requiring multi-channel audio routing benefit from the separate HDMI, optical and analogue outputs. Buyers who need captured footage at 4K 120 Hz should look at a different capture solution because this unit records at a lower frame rate than the pass-through signal.
Maximum recorded resolution 4K 30 Hz
The single specification that determines fit is the capture ceiling: the device records at up to 4K 30 Hz (or 1080p 120 Hz) even though the HDMI input and loop-out both handle 4K 120 Hz. If your workflow demands recording at the full 120 Hz refresh rate, this card will not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item
Will the HDMI 2.1 loop-out pass 4K 120 Hz from my PS5 to a 4K TV while I capture?
Yes, the HDMI input and loop-out both support up to 4K2K 120 Hz 4:4:4 so the console signal reaches the display unchanged while you record.
How can I verify the capture is running at 1080p 120 fps after I plug it in?
Open OBS Studio or AMCap, check the video properties and confirm the active resolution shows 1080p at 120 fps with latency around 3 to 4 ms.
Does the box include a USB-C cable and do I need a separate power adapter?
The device draws up to 4.5 W over USB-C so no external power supply is required; a USB 3.1 Type-C cable is included in the package.
