USB 3.0 active optical extension 10m

This ten-metre cable extends USB 3.0 SuperSpeed devices by converting the electrical signal to optical over fibre. It connects a Type-A male plug to a Type-A female port and supports transfer rates up to 5 Gbps. The link draws power from the host device so no external supply is required.

Build quality and daily connectivity

Full shielding protects the optical transceiver from interference for error-free data transmission. The integrated circuit combines an 850 nm VCSEL transmitter with a PIN photo-detector receiver in a single unit. Over-current protection guards connected equipment during use.

Bundled benefits and practical limits

UASP support works with Windows 11, 10 and 8 hosts for faster storage throughput. The cable is designed only for self-powered USB 3.0 peripherals and will not operate with USB 2.0 or 1.1 devices. Buyers needing legacy USB compatibility or bus-powered device support should choose a different solution.
