What this product is

This five-pack of Toslink female-to-female couplers joins two optical audio cables into a single longer run. It is suited for home-theatre owners, installers and anyone routing digital audio across a large room.

Gender-changer type

Each adapter presents a Toslink female socket on both ends, allowing two male-terminated optical cables to connect directly. The gold-plated contacts preserve the digital signal without introducing an active component.

Thermals noise and power

The passive couplers draw no power, generate no heat and add no audible noise to the signal path. They operate silently within the temperature range of the connected equipment.

Questions about this item

What does the five-pack give me for a single installation?

You receive five identical Toslink female-to-female couplers, so you can join multiple cable runs or keep spares for different rooms.

Which optical audio standard does the gold-plated Toslink interface support?

The coupler passes standard S/PDIF optical signals used by CD players, DACs, Dolby Digital and DTS receivers, DVD, MiniDisc and pro-audio gear.

What physical space does each adapter need behind my equipment?

Each coupler is a short straight-through barrel that sits flush between two Toslink plugs, adding only the length of the connector bodies themselves.
