What this adapter does

This two-pack of USB-C male to USB-A female adapters lets you connect standard USB-A peripherals to devices that only have USB-C ports. It is aimed at users who need to plug flash drives, card readers, mice or other legacy accessories into modern laptops, tablets or phones.

Speed and power limits

Each adapter runs at USB 3.2 Gen 2, giving a maximum data rate of 10Gbps, which is twenty times faster than USB 2.0. The connector also delivers up to 3A of power for charging, but it cannot exceed the 10Gbps ceiling or the 3A current limit.

Build fit and durability

The aluminium alloy housing resists scratches and dissipates heat during sustained transfers. Rated for 10000 insertion cycles, the compact design includes a keychain loop so the small adapters stay with your cable kit. They require a free USB-C port on the host and a USB-A plug on the peripheral.

Questions about this item

Will this adapter slow down my older USB 2.0 flash drives when I plug them into a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port?

No, the adapter is backward compatible so USB 2.0 drives will operate at their native speed while newer drives can reach 10Gbps.

How can I verify the 10Gbps link is active after connecting the adapter?

Check the operating system device manager or system report; it should list the connection as USB 3.2 Gen 2 or SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps.

Does the two-pack include any cables or do I need to supply my own USB-A cables?

The pack contains two adapters and a keychain; you must provide your own USB-A cables for each device.
