This CableMAX IO-102 card adds one DB9 and one 10-pin RJ45 RS-232 port through a 32-bit PCI 3.0 interface. It uses an Oxford 16C950 UART with a 128-byte FIFO per channel and supports baud rates up to 920 Kbps. A 10-pin RJ45 to DB9 bridge cable is included in the box.

Suits legacy equipment that needs 5 V power

Industrial scanners, POS displays and older serial devices that draw 5 V from the port can run directly from this card via jumper-configurable power output. The low-profile and full-height brackets let it fit either chassis type. Systems running operating systems newer than Windows 8.1 will not have built-in driver support.

Oxford 16C950 UART with 5 V selectable output
