Two-cable pack for USB Type B devices

This pack supplies two identical USB 3.0 cables with Type A to Type B male connectors, each measuring six feet. They connect printers, scanners, external hard drives and similar USB Type B peripherals to a host computer or hub without any driver installation. The blue colour makes them easy to identify among other cables.

USB 3.0 bandwidth and backward compatibility

The cables operate at USB 3.0 speeds for fast data transfer with compatible hosts and devices. They remain fully functional when plugged into USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 ports, though transfer rates will fall to the older standard's limits. Six feet of length gives reasonable reach for desk or rack setups without excessive slack.

Physical limits of the Type A to Type B link

The Type B connector fits only devices that present a Type B port, so the cables cannot be used with Type C, Micro-B or Mini-B equipment. Signal quality is maintained across the full six-foot run, but extending the link further with passive couplers or additional cables will degrade performance beyond the specification's guaranteed range.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 3.0 Type A to Type B cables work with my older USB 2.0 printer and scanner?

Yes, the cables are backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices, so they will connect and function with your existing printer and scanner.

How can I verify the cables are operating at USB 3.0 speeds after I plug them in?

Check the transfer rate in your operating system's device manager or run a file copy to an external SSD; a sustained rate well above the USB 2.0 ceiling confirms USB 3.0 operation.

The listing mentions a 2-pack of 6 ft cables — are both cables identical and is any adapter or driver needed?

The pack contains two identical 6 ft blue USB 3.0 Male A to Male B cables; no adapters or drivers are required thanks to plug-and-play support.
