Outlet Saver Extension Cord

This 6 ft power extension cord adds reach between a wall outlet and a device while preventing bulky transformers from blocking adjacent sockets on a strip or UPS. It carries a NEMA 5-15P male plug on one end and a NEMA 5-15R female receptacle on the other, suited for office equipment such as computers, monitors and printers. The cord is TAA compliant for federal procurement requirements.

10 Amp Continuous Rating

The SVT 18 AWG three-conductor cable is rated for 10 amps at 125 volts, supporting sustained loads from typical desktop peripherals without overheating. Fully moulded strain relief at both connectors resists fatigue from repeated insertion cycles. The 6.3 mm outer jacket provides standard protection for indoor routing across floors or behind desks.

Compact Black SVT Jacket

Weighing 0.420 lbs, the lightweight black cord is easy to coil and store when not in use. Two connectors in a straight male-to-female arrangement keep cable runs tidy in dense power strips. The 1.82 metre length offers practical reach for workstation setups without introducing excess slack that could become a trip hazard.

Questions about this item

Does the 18 AWG cord run warm when a 10 A load runs all day?

The 18 AWG SVT cable is rated for 10 A at 125 V, so normal continuous loads stay within its thermal limits.

What outlet and plug types must I already have for this NEMA 5-15P to 5-15R cord to connect?

You need a standard North American 125 V grounded receptacle (NEMA 5-15R) and a matching 3-prong grounded plug (NEMA 5-15P) on the device.

Will the 6.3 mm jacket fit alongside older bulky transformers on a crowded power strip?

Yes, the slim 6.3 mm diameter and outlet-saver design keep adjacent sockets free for large transformer blocks.
