Switchable Stereo Over-Ear Headphone

The Califone International 3068AV-CT is an over-ear headphone designed for educational environments such as language labs and listening centres. It offers switchable mono or stereo operation so one headset suits both single-channel and multi-channel audio sources. Volume control is located on each earcup for quick individual adjustment. A coiled 10 foot cable with a 3.5mm plug and included quarter-inch adapter provides flexible connectivity.

Sustained Classroom Use

Padded headband and noise-reducing earcups are built for extended daily wear during lessons or testing sessions. Replaceable leatherette ear cushions maintain hygiene and comfort over long periods without degrading acoustic seal. The coiled cable resists tangling and reduces strain on the connection point when students move around. Sturdy plastic construction withstands repeated handling in shared carts or storage racks.

3.5mm and Quarter-Inch Interface Limits

The 3.5mm plug connects directly to tablets, laptops and portable players, while the quarter-inch adapter fits professional audio equipment and older classroom amplifiers. Switchable mono-stereo function ensures compatibility with both legacy mono recorders and modern stereo devices without rewiring. No wireless or digital protocol is supported, so operation depends entirely on the host device analogue output stage. Cable length fixes the maximum working distance from the source.

Questions about this item

How much power do these 3068AV-CT headphones draw when used all day?

They are passive headphones with no internal amplifier, so they draw no power of their own — only the tiny signal current from the connected device.

What source connector must I already have to plug the coiled 10' cable in?

The cable ends in a 3.5 mm plug and a 1/4" adapter is included, so you need either a 3.5 mm or 1/4" headphone jack on your player.

Will the stereo/mono switch work correctly with an older mono-only cassette player?

Yes — set the switch to mono and both earcups receive the same single channel, matching the output of a mono-only source.
