Wall-plate Wi-Fi 6 access point

The Cambium Networks XV2-22H is a dual-radio Wi-Fi 6 wall-plate access point built for indoor deployment. It mounts flat on a wall or over a wiring box and integrates an 802.15.4 radio for BLE, Zigbee and Thread. Cloud-managed guest portals can be customised via templates or HTML CSS.

Upgrade from single-radio or legacy APs

Replaces older single-radio units that cannot serve both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz simultaneously. The jump is worth it when a site needs concurrent dual-band operation, integrated switching and cloud management without running separate controller hardware. It also adds PoE pass-through for downstream devices.

Capacity and headroom

Delivers 2.97 Gbps aggregate wireless throughput and supports 50 or more concurrent clients per radio. Three 1 GbE ports with one 48 V PoE out handle wired backhaul and powered peripherals. Environments demanding higher client density or multi-gigabit uplink speeds will exceed the available radio and port capacity.

Questions about this item

What wall box or surface is needed to mount the XV2-22H?

The XV2-22H mounts on a flat wall surface or over a standard wiring box using optional mounting adapters; it measures 6.89 in x 4.41 in x 2.19 in and weighs 1.19 lb.

How is the XV2-22H powered and what cabling step is often missed?

It receives 48 V Power over Ethernet through the uplink port; the step often missed is ensuring the PoE injector or switch delivers 48 V and that the RJ45 pass-through is wired correctly for downstream devices.

What ongoing maintenance does the XV2-22H require?

Firmware updates are managed centrally through the cloud platform; no user-serviceable parts exist inside, so maintenance is limited to checking cable connections and verifying the 3 x 1 GbE ports remain operational.
