Direct replacement for Pelican 9440 RALS

This Cameron & Co DS-CS-PEL944FT battery fits the Pelican 9440 Remote Area Lighting System. It replaces part numbers 009446-3429-000 and Peli 009446-3429-000. The pack uses Ni-MH chemistry rated at 9.6 V and 5000 mAh. It is supplied new and 100% OEM compatible.

Ni-MH chemistry limits and physical fit

Nickel-metal-hydride cells self-discharge faster than lithium types and perform best when cycled regularly. The pack measures 120.20 x 65.40 x 65.40 mm, so the light's battery compartment must accept those exact dimensions. No other electrical interface or form factor is supported by this model.

9.6 V 5000 mAh capacity decides suitability

The single specification that determines whether this is the correct part is the 9.6 V 5000 mAh rating delivering 48.00 Wh. If the original Pelican pack specifies a different voltage or capacity, this unit will not match the runtime or charging profile required. Buyers who need a different voltage or a higher capacity must look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 5000 mAh version or a lower-capacity pack for my Pelican 9440 RALS?

The 5000 mAh rating gives the longest run-time available for this light; choose it when you need maximum operating hours between charges.

What does the 9.6 V 48.00 Wh rating mean once the battery is installed in the 9440 RALS?

It delivers 9.6 volts at up to 48.00 watt-hours, powering the light at its designed brightness for the full rated duration.

Does the Ni-MH chemistry limit charging speed or require a specific charger for the 9440 system?

Ni-MH cells accept standard constant-current charging used by the Pelican 9440 base; no special protocol or faster-charge standard is needed.
