What this battery powers

The Cameron & Co DS-CS-VRX920TW is a lithium-ion replacement pack for Vertex two-way radios. It fits models VX-820, VX-821, VX-824, VX-829, VX-870, VX-920, VX-921, VX-924, VX-929, VX-970, VX-P820 and VX-P920. The pack replaces OEM part numbers AAJ62X001 and FNB-V128Li.

Voltage and chemistry match

The cell delivers 7.4 V from a lithium-ion chemistry rated at 3.4 Ah. That voltage and chemistry must match the radio’s original specification; a different voltage or a nickel-based pack will not work. The 25.16 Wh rating confirms the energy content for the listed models.

Capacity and runtime headroom

At 3400 mAh the pack supplies a full shift of typical transmit and receive cycles on the compatible Vertex radios. Heavy continuous transmission will drain it faster, and users needing multi-day operation without recharging should plan for a spare pack.

Questions about this item

How long will the 3.4 Ah capacity actually run a Vertex VX-920?

The 7.4 V 3.4 Ah pack stores 25.16 Wh; run-time depends on the radio's transmit duty cycle and receive current, so exact hours vary by use pattern.

Does the battery connect through the standard Vertex rail or a proprietary plug?

It is built as a direct replacement for the AAJ62X001 and FNB-V128Li packs, so it mates with the existing Vertex battery rail on the listed models.

Will the 89.60 x 54.90 x 27.60 mm case fit the VX-870 battery compartment?

Yes — those are the exact dimensions of the original FNB-V128Li, so it slides into the VX-870 and all other listed Vertex radios without modification.
