Cot-sized insect shelter

This mosquito net is shaped to fit a standard camping cot measuring 193 by 65 centimetres and provides 360-degree coverage with no-see-um mesh. It weighs 0.35 kilograms and packs down small for solo travellers who want bite-free sleep without carrying a full tent. The design has no bottom so it slips over the cot frame and tucks under the mattress for a sealed enclosure. It is built for one or two people who sleep on a raised bed outdoors.

1600-hole no-see-um mesh

The single specification that decides fit is the mesh density: 1600 holes per square inch blocks the smallest biting midges while still letting air move through. A double-sided zippered entrance 120 centimetres wide by 80 centimetres tall gives easy entry and exit from either side. Reinforced tie-out loops on every corner keep the net taut in wind. No other fabric or closure detail changes the bug protection this net delivers.

Breathable under sustained use

Because the polyester mesh is tightly woven yet porous, heat and humidity escape continuously through the night instead of building up like they do under a solid rainfly. The asymmetric cut lets the shelter hang from a single ridgeline or rafter without sagging onto the sleeper. Corners stay anchored through repeated gusts thanks to the reinforced tie-outs. The net remains effective for the whole trip without condensation dripping inside.

Questions about this item

What does the 1600 holes-per-square-inch mesh density mean for airflow and bug protection in practice?

The tightly woven polyester mesh with 1600 holes per square inch blocks no-see-um insects while still allowing breeze to pass through, so heat can escape and you stay ventilated without bites.

How does the 120 cm by 80 cm double-sided zippered entrance work when the net is pitched over a cot?

The zippered opening measures 120 cm wide by 80 cm high (47" × 31.5") and opens from both sides, giving easy entry and exit while the net sides tuck under the cot mattress for a sealed perimeter.

What does the 0.35 kg weight and compact packed size mean for fitting it into a backpack or attaching it to a shelter?

At 0.35 kg the net is ultralight and packs down small; reinforced tie-out loops on every corner let you secure it under a tarp, lean-to or single-wall tent using guy lines, stones or branches.
