Canon 58 mm Protection Filter

The Canon 2595A001 is a 58 mm protection filter designed for EOS digital cameras. It shields the front lens element from dust, moisture and scratches without altering image quality. Photographers who want a permanent safeguard for compatible lenses will find it suited to daily use.

Check your lens thread size

Before ordering, confirm that the lens you intend to protect has a 58 mm filter thread. The diameter is marked on the lens barrel or in its specifications. This filter only fits threads of that exact size and cannot be used on lenses with a different diameter.

Clear protection only

The supplied filter provides transparent optical protection and does not add polarisation, colour correction or neutral density effects. It simply preserves the original lens coating and glass. Buyers who want creative filtration or light reduction will need a different filter type.

Questions about this item

Does the 58 mm protection filter come with a case or cleaning cloth, or do I need to buy them separately?

The filter is supplied as a single glass element in its retail packaging; a protective pouch and microfibre cloth are not included and must be purchased separately.

How do I know the 58 mm size is the right one for my lens?

Check the front of your lens barrel or the inside of the original lens cap for a diameter marking of 58 mm; only lenses showing that exact figure will accept this filter.

What effect will the filter have on image quality when it is fitted to an EOS digital camera?

The optically flat protection filter adds negligible colour shift or loss of sharpness while shielding the front element from dust, moisture and scratches.
