Compact photo printer for mobile use

The Canon SELPHY CP1500 is a wireless compact photo printer designed for users who want to create physical prints directly from smartphones, cameras or USB drives. Its small footprint makes it suitable for home desks or travel when paired with the optional battery pack.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

The dye-sublimation process produces instantly dry prints that are water resistant and rated to last up to 100 years without special cooling requirements. Operation stays quiet enough for living-room use and the unit draws power from a standard AC adapter during typical sessions.

What the bundled app and optional battery change

The SELPHY Photo Layout app version 3.0 adds filter effects such as sepia and black-and-white plus layout templates for 2.1 inch square prints and mini label stickers. With the optional battery pack the printer delivers up to 54 prints per charge for untethered use.

Questions about this item

How do I load the 2.1 inch square paper and which step is often missed?

Open the paper cassette, align the 2.1 inch square sheets with the guides, and close the cassette until it clicks; the step often missed is forgetting to set the paper size in the app so the printer matches the loaded media.

What will need replacing after extended use on the SELPHY CP1500?

The integrated ink ribbon and paper cassette are the consumables; each full pack yields a fixed number of prints and must be replaced together when depleted.

What limit appears first during continuous printing on battery power?

The optional battery pack delivers up to 54 prints per charge, so the charge capacity is the first limit reached under sustained wireless use.
