Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM Pancake Lens

This ultra-slim wide-angle lens is built for Canon APS-C DSLR bodies. It delivers a 38 mm equivalent field of view and weighs just 0.9 in thick. The STM motor enables smooth, quiet autofocus during video recording. A 52 mm filter thread accepts standard circular filters.

Ideal for Travel and Everyday Photography

Street photographers and travellers who want a discreet, lightweight prime will appreciate the pancake profile. Videographers benefit from Movie Servo AF support and full-time manual focus override. Buyers needing zoom flexibility or a faster maximum aperture should consider other optics. Full-frame shooters cannot use this EF-S mount lens.

EF-S Mount Limits Use to APS-C Cameras

The Canon EF-S bayonet fits only APS-C format EOS DSLRs and provides a 38 mm equivalent focal length. On a full-frame body the lens will not mount and the image circle would not cover the sensor. Verify your camera uses the EF-S mount before purchasing.

Questions about this item

What EF-S mount compatibility does the 24mm f/2.8 STM lens provide?

The lens uses a Canon EF-S mount for APS-C format DSLRs, giving a 38mm equivalent focal length on those cameras.

What filter thread size does the 52mm diameter lens require?

The lens has a 52mm filter thread, so standard 52mm circular filters screw directly onto the front element.

How is the STM autofocus motor engaged for Movie Servo AF?

The STM motor activates automatically when the camera is set to Movie Servo AF mode; no lens switch is needed, just select the mode on the camera body.
