Basic eight-digit desktop calculator

The Canon CNMLS82Z is a basic eight-digit desktop calculator designed for students and general office use. Its large 15 mm LCD characters sit at a fixed eye-angled position to reduce glare and eyestrain. Dual power from solar and battery sources keeps it working in any lighting condition. Three-key memory handles simple store, recall and clear operations.

Eight digits with three-key memory

The eight-digit display covers everyday arithmetic, percentages and basic totals. Three-key memory lets you accumulate a running figure without re-entry. Functions such as fractions, decimals, cost-sell-margin, amortisation, statistics, regressions and financial calculations are not included. The fixed display angle cannot be tilted for different viewing heights.

Fixed LCD with solar and battery power

The calculator relies on a fixed-angle LCD with numeric notation only. Solar cells provide primary power in normal light while the battery backup takes over in dim conditions. No backlight, backspace, double-zero key or advanced scientific functions are present. Buyers needing more digits, programmable functions or a tiltable display should consider other models.

Questions about this item

Will the 8-digit LCD display work alongside my older solar-only calculator in the same classroom lighting?

Yes, the dual-power design uses both battery and solar sources so it operates reliably even when ambient light is too low for a solar-only unit.

How can I confirm the 15 mm character height is readable at my desk distance after unboxing?

Power it on and check that digits appear sharp and upright on the fixed-angle LCD; the eye-angled display is designed to reduce glare at typical desk positions.

Does the package include the battery for the dual-power system or must I buy it separately?

The calculator ships with the battery already installed for immediate solar and battery operation; no separate purchase is needed.
