Wide-angle L-series prime

The Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM is a wide-angle L-series prime lens designed for full-frame Canon EF-mount DSLRs and also compatible with APS-C models. Its fast f/1.4 maximum aperture suits working in difficult lighting conditions. The bundle includes the lens, a 72mm 3-piece filter kit, a lens cap keeper, and a cleaning kit.

Blue Spectrum Refractive Optics element

Optical design incorporates a Blue Spectrum Refractive Optics element to nearly eliminate chromatic aberrations and colour fringing for notable clarity and colour accuracy. A ring-type USM provides quick, quiet autofocus with full-time manual focus override. Durable construction is dust- and moisture-sealed, and a fluorine coating on exposed elements guards against fingerprints and smudging.

Questions about this item

Does the EF mount limit the maximum aperture to f/1.4 in practice?

The lens itself opens to f/1.4 and the EF mount transmits that aperture fully to compatible Canon DSLRs.

What filter thread size must a front filter match to fit this lens?

The bundle includes a 72 mm filter kit, so the lens takes 72 mm screw-in filters.
