Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM Lens Bundle

This new bundle centres on a fast normal-length prime for Canon EF-mount DSLRs. The f/1.2 maximum aperture gives strong depth-of-field control for subject isolation. A ring-type USM provides quick, quiet autofocus with full-time manual override. The package also includes a 72mm filter kit, a lens cap keeper and a cleaning kit.

EF Mount Compatibility and Filter Thread Limits

The lens fits full-frame EF-mount bodies and works on APS-C models with a narrower field of view. The 72mm front thread accepts only filters of that exact diameter, so larger or smaller filters cannot be mounted directly. Autofocus relies on the camera body's drive system, so older bodies without AF support will not autofocus. The f/1.2 aperture may not be usable on some entry-level bodies that limit maximum aperture.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 50mm f/1.2L USM or a different focal length?

The 50mm f/1.2L USM is a normal-length prime for full-frame EF-mount DSLRs; on APS-C bodies it gives a tighter field of view.

What does the f/1.2 aperture do for my photos?

The f/1.2 maximum aperture provides very shallow depth of field for subject isolation and strong low-light performance.
