Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Nikkor Zoom Lens

Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Zoom Lens

This professional-grade zoom lens covers a versatile wide-angle to medium telephoto range with a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture. It is built for Nikon FX and DX format cameras and features Silent Wave Motor autofocus with full-time manual override. Nano Crystal Coat and two ED elements suppress flare and chromatic aberration for high edge-to-edge sharpness.

Ideal Users and Limitations

Suited to photographers who need a bright, weather-resistant zoom for events, portraits and reportage on Nikon F-mount bodies. The fixed aperture maintains consistent exposure while zooming. Buyers who want a lighter variable-aperture lens or a longer telephoto reach should consider other options.

Deciding Specification

The constant f/2.8 aperture across the 24-70mm focal range is the key specification that determines whether this lens matches your low-light and depth-of-field requirements. It enables fast shutter speeds and shallow focus throughout the zoom without changing exposure settings.
