EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM prime for APS-C DSLRs

This bundle supplies a Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM lens, a 52mm three-piece filter kit, a lens-cap keeper and a cleaning kit. The pancake prime delivers a 38.4mm-equivalent field of view on APS-C bodies. Its STM motor provides smooth, quiet autofocus for stills and video. The f/2.8 aperture supports low-light work and shallow depth of field.

Upgrade from slower kit zooms when portability

The slim profile replaces bulkier standard zooms for travel and street shooting. Buyers who need zoom flexibility or wider maximum apertures should consider other lenses. The fixed 24mm focal length does not suit subjects requiring variable framing. The EF-S mount limits use to APS-C Canon DSLRs.

Questions about this item

What filter thread size does the EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM lens use?

The lens has a 52mm filter thread, matching the 52mm three-piece filter kit included in the bundle.

How is the lens mounted on a Canon DSLR, and what alignment step is often missed?

Align the white EF-S mount index on the lens barrel with the white index on the camera's EF-S mount, then turn clockwise until it clicks; skipping the index alignment can prevent the lens from locking securely.
