30.3 MP Full-Frame Mirrorless Body

The Canon EOS R is a compact mirrorless camera built around a 30.3 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor and DIGIC 8 image processor. It delivers high-resolution stills with a standard ISO range up to 40000. Dual Pixel CMOS AF provides 5,655 manually selectable AF points for precise focusing. The body accepts RF, EF and EF-S lenses via adapter.

Photographers and filmmakers seeking full-frame

This camera suits visual storytellers who want a lightweight full-frame system for stills and 4K 30p video with Canon Log and 10-bit 4:2:2 HDMI output. The vari-angle touchscreen and 3.69 million-dot EVF aid composition from difficult angles. Buyers who need higher continuous frame rates or advanced video specifications beyond 4K 30p should consider other models.

30.3 MP sensor decides low-light

The 30.3 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor is the specification that determines whether this body meets your resolution and low-light requirements. It sets the maximum image dimensions, cropping latitude and high-ISO performance ceiling. If your workflow demands more pixels or different sensor characteristics, this is not the right part.
