Compact mirrorless kit for creators

The Canon EOS R50 combines a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor with the DIGIC X image processor to deliver high-resolution stills and UHD 4K 30p video. Dual Pixel CMOS AF II covers nearly the full frame with 651 zones and tracks people, animals and vehicles. A 2.36m-dot OLED viewfinder and 3.0" vari-angle touchscreen simplify composition and review. The kit adds a shoulder bag, 64GB memory card and cleaning kit.

Ideal for vloggers and travel photographers

This camera suits creators who want a lightweight body with fast 15 fps electronic shutter bursts and reliable subject detection. Advanced A+ Assist handles night, backlit and macro scenes automatically. Buyers needing longer 4K recording times, headphone monitoring or dual card slots should consider other models. The single card slot and limited video connectivity may restrict professional workflows.

4K 30p video and 15 fps burst

The sensor and processor deliver UHD 4K at 30p and up to 15 fps continuous shooting with the electronic shutter. This specification determines whether the camera matches your content pace and resolution needs.

Questions about this item

How do I mount a lens on the RF-S mount and which way do the white index marks align?

Align the white index mark on the lens with the white mark on the camera's RF-S mount, then turn the lens clockwise until it clicks; the 24.2MP APS-C sensor sits behind this mount.

How often should I clean the 3.0" vari-angle touchscreen and the 2.36m-dot OLED EVF without damaging their coatings?

Use a dry microfibre cloth from the included cleaning kit whenever fingerprints appear; avoid liquids on the OLED EVF and the touchscreen's anti-smudge layer.

At what point does the electronic shutter's 15 fps burst hit the buffer limit during continuous RAW shooting?

The buffer fills after roughly 50 compressed RAW frames at 15 fps with the electronic shutter, then the rate drops until space clears.
