Canon EOS R50 V compact mirrorless camera body

Step up to interchangeable lens video creation

The Canon EOS R50 V is a compact mirrorless camera body built for creators who want to move beyond fixed-lens devices. Its APS-C sensor and RF mount open the door to interchangeable lenses while keeping the kit light enough for daily carry. The redesigned exterior signals a tool made for on-the-go production rather than studio permanence.

Dual tripod mounts and a three-microphone array

Vertical and horizontal tripod sockets on the grip and base let you switch orientation without a cage or L-bracket. A built-in three-microphone array handles clear audio capture and unwanted noise reduction, so you can record usable sound straight from the body. The Canon Multi-function shoe adds power and data for compatible accessories such as external mics or lights without extra cables or batteries.

Upgrade from fixed-lens compacts or smartphones

This body replaces a point-and-shoot or phone when you need lens flexibility, larger sensor depth of field control and a proper grip for extended shooting. The jump is worth it if you regularly hit the limits of digital zoom, struggle with low-light noise or want to pull focus manually while recording. Buyers who need internal raw video, a full-frame sensor or professional timecode sync should look elsewhere.
