Lightest full-frame EOS body

The Canon EOS RP is the lightest and smallest full-frame camera in the EOS system, built around a 26.2MP CMOS sensor and DIGIC 8 processor. It accepts SD, SDHC and SDXC cards and records UHD 4K video. The kit includes an EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens and an EF-EOS R mount adapter so existing EF lenses can be used.

Sustained shooting and video limits

Continuous shooting reaches 5 fps with the Dual Pixel CMOS AF system and its 4779 selectable AF points. The ISO range extends from 100 to 40000 for low-light work. Video recording is capped at 4K resolution; the sensor does not support higher frame rates or bit-rates for extended clips, and rolling shutter may appear during fast pans.

The body uses the RF mount; the included adapter is required for EF and EF-S lenses. The electronic viewfinder offers 2.36 million dots and the vari-angle touchscreen LCD measures 3.0 inches with 1.04 million dots. Battery life is rated for fewer shots than a DSLR, so spare packs are advisable for long sessions. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for remote control and image transfer.
