Compact full-frame mirrorless body

The Canon EOS RP packs a 26.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor and DIGIC 8 processor into a small body. It targets photographers who want full-frame image quality without the bulk of larger cameras. ISO 100-40000 and 5 fps continuous shooting cover everyday and low-light work.

USB charging and vari-angle touchscreen

In-camera charging over USB simplifies power on the move. The 3.0" 1.04m-dot vari-angle touchscreen and 2.36m-dot OLED viewfinder give flexible composition from high, low or front-facing angles. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth pair with the Canon Camera Connect app for wireless control and geotagging.

RF mount with 54mm diameter and 20mm flange

The RF mount’s wide 54mm diameter and short 20mm flange distance are designed for native RF lenses. Adapters are required for EF and EF-S glass. The 4779-point Dual Pixel CMOS AF covers most of the frame but 4K video uses a crop that narrows the field of view.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the 2.36m-dot OLED viewfinder and 3.0" 1.04m-dot vari-angle touchscreen are functioning correctly after setup?

Power on the camera, look through the viewfinder for a clear, bright image with menu overlays, then flip out the rear LCD and verify touch response by tapping menu items and swiping through playback images.

What comes in the box with the EOS RP body and what must be purchased separately?

The box contains the camera body, battery pack, battery charger, strap and documentation. You must buy an RF-mount lens, an SD card and any additional batteries or USB power adapters separately.

Which version of the EOS RP should I choose for the 26.2MP full-frame sensor and 4779 Dual Pixel AF points?

This model is a single body-only configuration; the 26.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor, DIGIC 8 processor and 4779 selectable AF points are standard on every unit.
