Essential Accessory for RF 50mm f/1.4 L VCM Lens

The Canon ES-73 Lens Hood is purpose-built for the RF 50mm f/1.4 L VCM Lens. It blocks stray light that causes flare and ghosting when shooting towards bright sources. Photographers who rely on maximum contrast and colour accuracy will find it indispensable. It also shields the front element from knocks and dust.

Blocks Stray Light and Protects Front Glass

The hood stops off-axis sunlight from reaching the optics, preserving contrast in backlit scenes. Without it, strong side light washes out detail and introduces artefacts the sensor cannot recover. It handles direct flare from the sun and bright reflections alike. In overcast or studio conditions the benefit is smaller but the physical protection remains.

Dedicated Fit for Canon RF 50mm f/1.4 L VCM

Model number 6909C001 confirms this hood matches only the RF 50mm f/1.4 L VCM Lens. It will not mount on other RF 50mm variants or EF lenses. Buyers who own a different 50mm focal length need the hood designed for that specific model.
