Designed for EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM

The Canon ET-74B lens hood is engineered exclusively for the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM zoom lens. It serves photographers who need to shield that specific optic from stray light. The dedicated fit ensures the hood does not vignette at 70mm or 300mm focal lengths.

Lock button secures hood during extended use

A unique lock button holds the hood firmly in place on the lens barrel. The mechanism resists accidental rotation or detachment when the camera is carried on a strap or packed in a bag. Photographers can rely on the hood staying mounted throughout long shooting sessions.

Flare reduction decides if this is the right part

The hood’s primary function is blocking off-axis light that causes flare and ghosting. If you shoot in bright or harsh lighting where stray light degrades contrast, this accessory directly addresses that need. Buyers who rarely encounter backlit scenes may not require it.

Questions about this item

Does the ET-74B hood add noticeable weight or bulk when the 70-300mm lens is carried all day?

The hood is a lightweight plastic accessory that adds minimal bulk; its lock-button design keeps it firmly in place without rattling during extended shooting sessions.

What must I already own for the ET-74B to function?

You need the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM zoom lens; the hood bayonets directly onto that specific model and will not fit other lenses.

Can the ET-74B stay mounted when I store the 70-300mm lens in a standard padded pouch?

Yes, the hood reverses over the barrel for compact storage, and the lock button prevents accidental release inside a bag or case.
