Compatible lens hood

The Canon EW-65C lens hood attaches to supported Canon lenses to block stray light and shield the front element from dust, scratches and accidental bumps. It is intended for photographers who want clearer outdoor images without adding bulk to their kit.

Flare reduction and physical protection

The hood cuts unwanted flare and ghosting in bright conditions, helping the lens render contrast and colour more faithfully. Its rigid construction absorbs minor impacts so the glass stays clean and intact during everyday shooting.

Direct fit for listed Canon lenses

The accessory mounts directly on compatible Canon lenses without adapters, leaving the filter thread free for circular filters. It adds minimal length to the barrel, keeping the setup balanced for handheld work or tripod use.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the EW-65C hood to my Canon lens and which way round does it go?

Align the hood's bayonet tabs with the lens hood mount, twist clockwise until it clicks, and keep the petal shape oriented so the longer cut-outs sit top and bottom.

Will the EW-65C's mounting tabs or finish wear out and need replacing?

The plastic bayonet and matte interior are built for long-term use; only replace the hood if the tabs crack or the flocking peels enough to reflect light.

At what point does the EW-65C stop blocking flare when the sun is low?

The petal profile shades the frame up to the lens's widest angle; once the light source moves outside that coverage, flare can reappear.
