Home and small-office all-in-one

The Canon MegaTank PIXMA G3290 is a wireless colour inkjet that prints, copies and scans. High-capacity refillable tanks replace cartridges and lower running costs. A 2.7-inch colour touchscreen gives direct control without a computer. It suits users who want low-cost colour output and mobile printing from a single device.

Speed, noise and power in daily use

Black-and-white pages emerge at up to 11 pages per minute and colour at up to 6 pages per minute. The printer runs on standard mains power with no extra supply needed. Normal operation stays quiet enough for a shared room. There are no liquid-cooling parts or high-wattage components to manage.

Tank access, connectivity and daily workflow

Front-facing ink windows and spring-loaded caps let you check levels and refill without turning the unit around. Wireless printing works through the Canon PRINT app, Apple AirPrint and Mopria Print Service from phones or tablets. A USB cable is sold separately for wired connection. Borderless photo printing is supported up to the stated limit. Buyers who need automatic duplex scanning or a document feeder will not find those features here.

Questions about this item

How do I install the ink tanks and what step do people often miss?

Remove the front cover, open each spring-loaded cap, insert the matching colour bottle nozzle-down until it clicks, then close the cap firmly — the step many skip is waiting for the ink to stop flowing before closing the cap.

What maintenance or replacement will the G3290 need later?

The MegaTank bottles last for up to 6000 black or 7700 colour pages; after that you simply buy new bottles. The print head is not user-replaceable, so periodic nozzle checks and cleaning cycles from the 2.7-inch touchscreen keep it running.

What limit appears first during long print runs?

The engine prints 11 black or 6 colour pages per minute, so sustained jobs are limited by that speed rather than ink capacity.
