Ultra-Wide Prime for Mirrorless

The Canon RF 20mm f/1.4 L VCM is a premium ultra-wide-angle prime lens built for full-frame mirrorless cameras. Its 94° angle of view and bright f/1.4 aperture suit landscape, architecture and astrophotography enthusiasts. The L-series weather sealing protects against dust and moisture during outdoor shoots. A dual autofocus drive combines Voice Coil Motor and Nano USM for fast, near-silent focusing on stills and video.

Mounting and Filter Considerations

The lens mounts directly to the RF bayonet and includes a rear gel filter holder for creative effects. The front accepts 67mm threaded filters, while the bundled kit supplies 58mm filters that require a separate step-up ring not provided. The petal-style EW-73H hood attaches via the front thread and must be aligned correctly to avoid vignetting at 20mm. The supplied LP1219 soft case fits the hood-reversed configuration for storage.

Compatibility Checks Before Buying

Verify your camera uses the Canon RF mount; EF and EF-S bodies need an adapter not included here. Confirm your workflow can handle the large raw files produced by high-resolution sensors paired with this optic. Ensure you have a 67mm circular polariser or ND filter if you plan front-thread filtration, as the 58mm bundle set will not fit natively. Rear gel filter use demands careful handling to avoid sensor contamination.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the lens is focusing correctly after mounting it?

The VCM and Nano USM drive should lock on rapidly and silently; test by half-pressing the shutter on a high-contrast edge and confirm the focus confirmation indicator lights instantly.

Which accessories are already included and which filter size must I purchase separately?

The box contains the lens, E-67 II front cap, RF dust cap, EW-73H hood, LP1219 soft case, rear gel holder, a 3-piece 58mm filter kit, cleaning kit, 5-inch pouch and cap keeper; 67mm front filters are not included.

Should I choose the 58mm filter kit or buy 67mm filters for the front thread?

The lens barrel takes 67mm front filters; the bundled 58mm kit requires a step-up ring, so buy 67mm filters if you want direct attachment without an adapter.
