Portable dye-sublimation photo printer

The Canon SELPHY QX20 is a compact wireless photo printer that uses dye-sublimation technology to produce vibrant, water-resistant prints at 287 x 287 dpi resolution. Weighing approximately 1 lb, it is designed for users who want to create physical photos instantly at events, gatherings or while travelling without relying on a lab service.

Wireless and USB-C connectivity for mobile printing

The printer connects via 802.11 Wi-Fi or USB-C to iOS and Android devices running the Canon SELPHY Photo Layout app, eliminating the need for a computer or router. It supports two sticker paper formats — square 2.7 x 2.7 inch and card-size 2.1 x 3.4 inch — with borderless printing on three sides and a blank bottom margin for handwritten notes.

Sustained output of 40-second prints

Each photo takes roughly 40 seconds to print and emerges instantly dry, ready for handling or writing on without smudging. The dye-sublimation process applies a protective overcoat that resists water and fading, so prints remain durable during extended display or frequent handling. The small footprint and internal paper path suit intermittent use rather than high-volume batch printing.
