Resident Evil 4 PS4 remake

This PlayStation 4 title reconstructs the 2005 survival horror classic with Capcom's RE Engine for realistic visuals and expanded narrative depth. It is built for players who want a modernised take on the iconic story.

Parry system changes combat flow

Leon's knife mechanics allow parrying enemy attacks to avoid damage and escape grabs, shifting encounters toward timing and positioning rather than pure resource management. Sustained fights reward mastery of these defensive tools.

Physical PS4 disc format

The game ships on a standard PlayStation 4 disc requiring installation to the console's hard drive. Buyers who only own a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition or who prefer download-only libraries cannot use this version.

Questions about this item

Will my PlayStation 4 run hot or loud while playing Resident Evil 4 for long sessions?

The game runs on the standard PS4 hardware without any special cooling requirements; heat and fan noise will match typical heavy-load behaviour for the console.

Do I need anything besides a PS4 console to play this disc?

A PlayStation 4 system, a DualShock 4 controller and enough free storage for the mandatory install are all that is required.

Can I keep my original 2005 Resident Evil 4 disc and play this version on the same PS4?

Yes, both discs work on the same PS4; they install as separate applications and do not share save data.
