Universal Impact Socket

The Capri Tools 5-5315 is a 15 mm 1/2 in drive universal impact socket built for high-torque power tools. It uses premium Chrome Molybdenum steel with a proprietary heat treatment for durability. A manganese phosphate coating provides superior corrosion resistance compared to standard black oxide finishes. The 6-point WaveDrive design grips fasteners tightly to prevent rounding.

Verify Drive Size And Clearance

Confirm your impact wrench or driver uses a 1/2 in drive before ordering. The universal joint rotates 360 degrees, so check that the swing radius clears surrounding components in your work area. Ensure the 15 mm size matches the fastener you intend to service. The product carries a California Proposition 65 warning for chemicals linked to cancer and reproductive harm.

Suits Tight-Angle Automotive Work

This socket suits technicians who need angled access on 15 mm fasteners with 1/2 in drive tools. The WaveDrive profile helps preserve damaged or stubborn bolt heads. Buyers who need a different metric size or a 3/8 in drive should look at other options. It is not for hand-ratchet-only users who do not require impact-rated construction.

Questions about this item

Does the 5-5315 universal impact socket ship with any accessories or does the 15 mm socket come alone?

The 15 mm universal impact socket is sold as a single piece; no additional accessories or adapters are included in the package.

How does the 6-point WaveDrive design on this 15 mm socket differ from a standard 6-point socket?

The WaveDrive profile contacts the fastener on its flats rather than the corners, reducing rounding risk and providing more leverage during high-torque impact use.

What does the 360-degree rotation actually change when the socket is on an impact gun?

The universal joint lets the socket pivot a full 360 degrees, so the drive stays aligned with the fastener even at awkward angles, maintaining torque transfer without binding.
