Carol E1532S.41.03 Riser Data Cable

This Carol E1532S.41.03 cable is a 1000 ft riser-rated data cable with two solid 12 AWG conductors. It uses S-R PVC insulation and a red PVC jacket, and it meets NEC Articles 725 CL3R, 760 FPLR and 800 CMR for vertical runs in commercial buildings.

Installers running fire-alarm or audio circuits

Suitable for installers pulling fire-alarm or audio system wiring through riser spaces where a CL3R, FPLR or CMR rating is required. Not suited for projects that need shielded pairs, stranded conductors or a plenum rating.

12 AWG solid conductors and 300 V rating

The two solid 12 AWG conductors carry a 300 V maximum rating and measure 0.2 in outside diameter. This gauge and voltage combination determines whether the cable meets the load and code requirements for a given alarm or audio circuit.

Questions about this item

What does the CL3R, FPLR and CMR rating allow this cable to be used for?

NEC 725 CL3R, 760 FPLR and 800 CMR listings mean the cable is approved for riser fire-alarm, power-limited and communications circuits in vertical shafts.

What reel size and jacket diameter must the pathway accommodate?

The cable comes on a 1000 ft reel-in-a-box with a 0.2 in outside diameter, so conduit and pull boxes must clear that profile.

How is the solid 12 AWG pair terminated without damaging the S-R PVC insulation?

Strip each solid conductor carefully with a 12 AWG stripper, avoid nicking the insulation, then land wires on listed fire-alarm terminals per NEC 760.
