Vehicle-Side 7-Way Blade Socket

This CARROFIX connector mounts on the tow vehicle and accepts a standard 7-pin trailer plug. It carries circuits for taillights, brake lights, turn signals, reverse lights, electric trailer brakes, auxiliary power and ground. The moulded black plastic housing resists impact and corrosion, while a spring-loaded cover with an integrated gasket seals the copper terminals against water and road grime.

Detachable Terminal Block Limits Wiring Flexibility

The unique detachable hardware lets you splice wires directly to the terminal block before snapping it into the housing, which speeds installation and protects connections during assembly. However, the fixed 7-way blade layout follows the traditional RV pin-out, so it cannot accommodate proprietary pin configurations or additional circuits beyond the seven defined functions. The water-resistant seal relies on the cover being fully latched; an unlatched cover exposes the pins to moisture.

Verify Trailer Plug Matches RV Blade Pin-Out

Confirm that your trailer uses the standard RV 7-way blade plug with the same colour-to-function mapping: white for ground, blue for electric brakes, green for tail and running lights, black for battery charge, red for stop and left turn, brown for stop and right turn, and yellow for auxiliary. Ensure your vehicle wiring can supply the recommended gauges — 10, 12 or 14 gauge as listed — and that the mounting location allows the spring-loaded cover to open and close freely.

Questions about this item

Should I choose this 7-way blade socket or a different pin count for my RV trailer?

This socket has seven blade terminals and is designed for RV travel trailers, larger utility trailers and boat trailers that use a 7-way connection.

What does the 12-volt battery circuit actually power when the socket is installed on my tow vehicle?

The black wire on the 10-gauge battery-charge circuit supplies 12-volt auxiliary power to the trailer for interior lights, a winch or a breakaway battery.

Does the spring-loaded cover with its extra gasket meet a specific waterproof rating?

The cover includes an additional mat that strengthens waterproof protection, keeping the copper terminals safe from dirt, rain and corrosion.
