What this kit is and who it suits

The Casio EXILIM EX-TR50 kit includes an 11.1MP digital camera with a 3.0-inch touchscreen and a hinged body design. It captures 1080p video and includes built-in Wi-Fi for wireless sharing. The kit is aimed at make-up professionals and enthusiasts who want a dedicated device for self-portraits and beauty shots.

Who should consider it and who should not

The hinged frame and specialised make-up modes suit users who want a camera that doubles as a mirror and offers skin-tone bracketing. Buyers needing interchangeable lenses, raw capture, or a larger sensor for low-light work will not find those capabilities here. The fixed 21mm equivalent lens also limits framing flexibility for distant subjects.

The specification that decides fit

The 1/1.7-inch BSI-CMOS sensor and 11.1 megapixels determine the image quality ceiling for this kit. If that resolution and sensor size match your output needs, the camera’s hinged design and make-up features become the deciding advantages.

Questions about this item

Does the kit include a memory card or do I need to buy one separately?

The camera has internal memory and a microSD card slot; a card is not included so you will need to supply your own for extra storage

Which colour option should I choose for the EX-TR50?

This kit is the gold finish; the only other colour mentioned in the range is black, so pick gold if you want the warmer tone

What does the 11.1 MP figure mean for everyday shots?

The 1/1.7" BSI-CMOS sensor delivers 11.1 megapixels, giving enough detail for large prints and cropping while keeping low-light noise low
