Scientific calculator for students

The CASIO FX-260SOLARIINF-IH is a 12-digit scientific calculator designed for classroom and examination use. It provides the core functions required for secondary and post-secondary mathematics courses.

Solar power with battery backup

The unit runs on solar cells under normal indoor lighting so no battery changes are needed during daily lessons. Power draw is negligible and the device operates silently.

Natural textbook display aids learning

The one-line Natural Textbook Display shows fractions, roots and symbols exactly as they appear in textbooks. Fraction keys, GCD/LCM, prime factorisation, regression and table functions let pupils enter and review problems in familiar notation.

Questions about this item

How do I install the solar panel on the CASIO FX-260SOLARIINF-IH?

The CASIO FX-260SOLARIINF-IH has a built-in solar panel that powers the 12-digit display. No installation is required; simply expose the panel to adequate light. The common mistake is covering the solar cells with a label or sticker, which blocks the power source.

What maintenance will the FX-260SOLARIINF-IH need over time?

The FX-260SOLARIINF-IH runs on solar power with no user-replaceable battery. Maintenance is limited to keeping the solar panel clean and the keypad free of debris. If the display dims in low light, move to a brighter area rather than attempting to open the case.

At what point does the 12-digit display limit calculations on the FX-260SOLARIINF-IH?

The FX-260SOLARIINF-IH shows up to 12 digits on its one-line display. During sustained use, results exceeding 12 digits switch to scientific notation, and the fixed decimal setting rounds answers to the chosen decimal places. This display capacity is the first limit you will encounter.
