Immersive Construction Play

The CAT Workforce Excavator Action Set delivers a 23-piece construction experience for children aged three and up. A detailed excavator vehicle pairs with a 4-inch articulated figure that fits inside the cab for realistic roleplay. The set includes a wheelbarrow, tamper tool, sand molds, road signs, cones and hand tools to build a complete job site.

Manual Operation and Safe Materials

No power source is required so play is driven entirely by imagination and manual movement. The non-drying dirt compound stays pliable for repeated brick and block creation without hardening. Durable plastic construction is weather resistant for indoor or outdoor use and weighs 1.1 pounds for easy handling by small hands.

Expands with Workforce Collection

This set suits young builders who want a self-contained site with vehicle, figure and accessories in one box. It does not meet the need for remote-control functions or larger-scale machinery found in other Workforce playsets. The jump is worth it when a child prefers hands-on excavation play over motorised operation.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the non-drying dirt compound and molds so it doesn't make a mess?

Open the 3 oz compound tub, press it into the two sand molds to form bricks or blocks, and play on a tray or mat; the compound never dries out so it can be reused straight away.

Which pieces wear out first and need replacing?

The 3 oz non-drying dirt compound will eventually run out or pick up debris; all 23 plastic pieces including the excavator, 4-inch figure, wheelbarrow, tamper, signs, cones and eight hand tools are durable and need no scheduled replacement.

At what point does the excavator arm stop lifting under repeated play?

The excavator is a manual 25-inch plastic model with no motor or hydraulic system, so there is no power-related lifting limit; the arm moves freely as long as the joints stay intact.
