A ROS-programmable robot kit with Ackermann steering, Jetson TX2-NX control, and a 3.2 x 2.8 m training map for autonomous driving
The Yahboom R2L Standard Ver is a STEM toy built around the Jetson TX2-NX module for ROS-based Python programming. It targets adults, educators and researchers who want a ready-to-code platform for autonomous driving and AI recognition experiments. The Ackermann chassis provides stable, low-power steering for competition-style manoeuvres.
The robot cannot operate without a mounted Jetson Nano, TX2-NX or Xavier NX development board; each variant needs its own installation package. A supplied 3.2 by 2.8 metre curved driving map includes a pre-trained model so the kit can run self-driving demos immediately. Control options include a remote handle and a user interface for manual override.
Under continuous load the Ackermann structure reduces power draw while keeping steering accurate during extended autopilot runs. The pre-trained model lets the vehicle navigate the 125 by 110 inch map without repeated re-calibration. Thermal behaviour will depend on the specific Jetson module installed and the enclosure airflow.
