Celestron Advanced VX Computerized Mount 91519

The Celestron Advanced VX is a computerized German equatorial mount designed for astronomers seeking automated GoTo tracking and imaging capabilities. It offers features typically found on high-end mounts in a compact form factor suitable for smaller telescopes. The system includes a NexStar+ hand controller for straightforward operation.

Practical limits of the GoTo and port system

Automated tracking relies on the computerized GoTo system and the supplied hand control for object location. Connectivity is limited to the built-in hand control port, a dedicated autoguider port, and two AUX ports for accessories. The mount's design is optimized for smaller optical tubes, so payload capacity defines the practical limit for imaging setups.

Check tripod stability and accessory needs

Verify that the 2-inch diameter steel tripod legs provide a sufficiently wide stance for your observing location and surface. Ensure you have the necessary cables for the autoguider and any AUX accessories you plan to connect. Confirm the mount's size and weight are manageable for your transport and storage situation.
