203.2 mm Schmidt-Cassegrain with WiFi

The Celestron NexStar Evolution 8 is a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with a 203.2 mm aperture and StarBright XLT coatings. Integrated WiFi lets you control the mount from a smartphone or tablet using the Celestron mobile app. A built-in lithium-ion battery supplies up to 10 hours of operation and includes a USB charge port for other devices. The package includes a custom carry case and a stainless steel tripod with a single fork arm altazimuth mount.

Check power and app compatibility

Verify that your smartphone or tablet runs a supported version of iOS or Android for the Celestron mobile app. The internal battery is not user-replaceable, so plan observing sessions around the 10-hour runtime or bring a USB power bank for extended use. Ensure you have space for the included tripod and carry case during transport and storage. The mount requires a flat, stable surface for the SkyAlign procedure to work correctly.

Upgrades from manual or non-WiFi goto mounts

This model replaces telescopes that require a hand controller or external power supply. The jump is worth it if you want wireless alignment via SkyAlign and cable-free operation for a full night. It does not suit buyers who need a German equatorial mount for long-exposure astrophotography or who require an aperture larger than 203.2 mm for deeper light gathering.
