Portable infrared calibrator with a 57 mm blackbody target at 0.95 emissivity, adjustable from 50 to 500 °C in 0.1 ° steps
The CEM BX-500 is a handheld device that provides a stable blackbody target for verifying non-contact IR thermometers. It covers a range from 50 to 500°C with set-point increments of 0.1°. The target measures 57 mm in diameter and has an emissivity of 0.95.
Professionals who need a portable reference source for infrared thermometer accuracy will find this unit practical. It is not intended for users requiring calibration above 500°C or for those needing a built-in power supply, as batteries are not included.
The large isothermal target offers a wide field of view to accommodate optical variations in different IR thermometers. A contact calibration well behind the blackbody surface allows for higher precision checks using an optional digital RTD thermometer.

The BX-500 covers 50°C to 500°C with a 57 mm (2.25") diameter blackbody target. Choose it when you need to verify IR thermometers across that span and the aperture fits your instrument's field of view.
The isothermal target emits at 0.95, so IR thermometers set to that value will read the true set-point temperature in 0.1° increments from 50°C to 500°C without an emissivity correction.
