Purpose and Audience

The CEM DT-802 is a desktop CO2 monitor that measures carbon-dioxide concentration, temperature and relative humidity in indoor spaces. It suits facility managers, teachers and homeowners who need a visible and audible alarm when air quality drops.

Interface Limits

The non-dispersive infrared sensor reads CO2 from 0 to 9999 ppm with 1 ppm resolution and an accuracy of ±75 ppm up to 2000 ppm or ±8 % above that level. Temperature range spans -5 to 50 °C with ±1 °C accuracy, while humidity covers 0.1 to 90.0 %RH with ±3 %RH accuracy between 30 and 99 %RH at 25 °C and ±4 %RH below 30 %RH.

Upgrade Context

This unit replaces simple colour-indicator badges or single-point testers by adding continuous logging, max/min recall and automatic baseline calibration over 7.5 days. The jump is worthwhile when occupants require time-stamped records and an audible alert instead of a periodic spot check.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the DT-802 or another CEM model for desktop CO2 monitoring?

The DT-802 is the specific model listed; it uses an NDIR sensor and covers 0-9999 ppm with 1 ppm resolution.

What does the 0-9999 ppm range mean when I use the DT-802 in a real room?

It reads from outdoor levels up to very high indoor concentrations, with ±75 ppm accuracy up to 2000 ppm and ±8 % above that.

How does the NDIR sensor and automatic baseline calibration work in practice?

The non-dispersive infrared sensor self-calibrates using the lowest CO2 level seen over 7.5 days, or you can calibrate manually in fresh air.
