Compatible replacement battery

The Centenex Electronics DS-CS-CLB970BL is a lithium-ion power pack built for CipherLab 9700 series barcode scanners. It replaces original part numbers BA-0083A6 and KB97000X03504 and delivers a 3.4 Ah capacity at 3.7 V for 12.58 Wh of energy.

When to choose this cell

Install this battery when the original pack no longer holds a full shift charge or shows swelling. The jump is worth it if the scanner still meets workflow needs but runtime has dropped below usable levels. Buyers who need a higher capacity than 3400 mAh or a different form factor cannot use this model.

Physical and electrical limits

The cell measures 71.20 x 52.32 x 20.80 mm and fits only compartments designed for those exact dimensions. It supplies 3.7 V nominal voltage and cannot be used in devices requiring a different voltage or chemistry. Chargers must support lithium-ion charging profiles for safe operation.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions of the DS-CS-CLB970BL battery so I can confirm it fits my 9700 scanner?

The battery measures 71.20 mm by 52.32 mm by 20.80 mm, matching the original CipherLab BA-0083A6 form factor for the 9700 series.

How do I install the DS-CS-CLB970BL battery in the CipherLab 9700, and what step is often missed?

Slide the pack into the 9700 battery bay until the latch clicks; the step users miss is fully seating the connector so the gold contacts align with the KB97000X03504 pinout.

When will the 3400 mAh Li-ion cell in the DS-CS-CLB970BL need replacement under daily shift use?

At 3.7 V and 12.58 Wh, the cell supports hundreds of full charge cycles; expect service life of one to two years before runtime drops below a full shift.
