Centenex DS-CS-TRC870SL GPS battery

This Centenex Electronics DS-CS-TRC870SL is a 7.2V 2500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Trilithic 860DSP and 860DSPi field analysers. It matches the original 90041000 part number and supplies 18.00 Wh of capacity. The pack measures 153.00 x 33.96 x 18.73 mm and comes in black.

Ni-MH chemistry and voltage limits

Nickel-metal-hydride cells deliver a nominal 7.2 V and cannot be charged with lithium-ion or lead-acid chargers. Self-discharge is higher than lithium types, so the pack should be topped up before extended field sessions. No built-in fuel gauge or smart-bus communication is provided.

2.5 Ah capacity decides suitability

The 2.5 Ah rating determines how long the analyser runs between charges; users needing longer autonomous operation will need a higher-capacity pack or a spare battery. This unit is not for devices that require a different voltage, connector or form factor.

Questions about this item

Which Centenex Electronics DS-CS-TRC870SL capacity fits my Trilithic 860DSP field analyzer?

The 7.2V 2500mAh Ni-MH pack replaces the original 90041000 battery in both the 860DSP and 860DSPi field analyzers.

What does the 7.2V 2500mAh rating deliver in the analyzer?

It supplies 18.00 Wh of energy at 7.2 volts, matching the voltage and runtime the 860DSP series expects from the factory pack.

How does the Ni-MH chemistry affect daily use in the field?

Ni-MH cells tolerate partial charging and deep discharge cycles better than older chemistries, so the battery holds its 2.5 Ah capacity through repeated analyzer sessions.
