ceye 44MP Pink Point & Shoot Camera

The ceye LY-DC228-001 is a new compact point-and-shoot camera in pink aimed at kids, teens and beginners who want a simple way to capture photos and 1080P video. It uses a CMOS sensor rated at 44 megapixels for still images and includes a 32GB SD card so it works straight out of the box.

44MP sensor with 16X digital zoom

The 44MP sensor provides high pixel counts for prints or cropping, while the 16X digital zoom lets you pull distant subjects closer using the W/T button. Digital zoom crops the sensor data, so image quality decreases as you zoom beyond the fixed 2.8 aperture lens. The 32GB card stores thousands of JPEGs at lower resolutions but fills faster at full 44MP.

Manual focus only operation

This model relies entirely on manual focus with no autofocus system, meaning the user must adjust sharpness for every shot. Buyers who want fast, automatic focusing for action or candid moments should consider a different camera type. The fixed 2.8 aperture and lack of optical zoom also limit low-light and telephoto flexibility.

Questions about this item

Will the 16X zoom still be useful if I keep using my older 8X compact camera?

The 16X digital zoom on this model extends reach beyond an 8X optical zoom, letting you frame distant subjects without moving closer, though digital magnification may reduce detail compared to optical zoom on the older camera.

How can I confirm the 44MP sensor and 1080P video are recording correctly after first power-on?

Take a test photo and check the playback zoom — fine detail should hold at high magnification — then record a short clip and verify smooth 1080P playback on the LCD or a computer.

Does the box include the 32GB SD card shown in photos, or must I buy storage separately?

The 32GB SD card is included in the box along with the pink camera body, so no separate memory purchase is required for immediate shooting.
